From a Personal Vision to a Global Mission

Shamba Connect was born from a profound personal experience. In 2017, our founder faced serious health challenges traced back to food adulteration and contaminated produce. That moment sparked one conviction: every family, anywhere, deserves to know exactly where their food comes from.

What began as a personal solution in a small urban home grew into something far bigger. As the benefits of organic, home-grown food became undeniable, the vision expanded beyond one household, one neighborhood, and one country — toward a world where growing your own food is normal, not exceptional.

Established in 2018 as a social enterprise, Shamba Connect makes urban agriculture accessible, practical, and sustainable for families, schools, and institutions. We've installed over 2,000 gardens and trained more than 5,000 people in sustainable farming — and we're building toward a global movement for food security, one garden at a time.
